Pearl is a sweet girl filled with lots of love, kisses, and energy, very loyal and knows all basic commands (sit, stay, kennel, no). She is very affectionate and good with older children, and the cat and dogs she is fostered with (may need slow introductions with new dogs). She is house trained with doggy door access, crate trained, and needs work on the leash but does well with her body harness, is very strong. Pearl loves play time with the tennis ball, walks, sunbathing, and going on rides.. She will do best in a home with a backyard. She is a strong chewer and loves her kong toy and other dog toys that are durable. She greets folks wagging her tail and wanting her belly rubs, She can be very submissive, is creature of habit, and catches on to the routine quickly. She is highly treat motivated, well behaved in the house and during the winter loves to fall asleep next to the fireplace. Pearl had a very rough life before coming to TDR and has been working with her foster family for 1 1/2 yrs. She needs to know she can trust you and that you will always treat her with love as she can be a scardy cat sometimes. She has lots of energy, but often times caught just sleeping on the cool tiles in the kitchen relaxing. She has never been food aggressive towards her foster family, but can get growly if other animals come near her food, but does extremely well sharing a communal water station. Pearl literally smiles when she is happy, and did we mention she does not mind you giving her a bath and cleaning her ears!!
